Am I a Perfectionist · type
The Straight Edge
The bar is high and there is still a band on your scale called good enough. That band is the whole difference, and having it is not the same as aiming low.
What this type is
Your answers describe someone who minds about quality and has somewhere to put the word finished. You notice what is wrong with a thing. You would rather do it properly. Some of it gets done more carefully than anyone asked for. What is missing is the part this check is built to find: the scale on which everything below the bar is worth nothing. Yours has a floor. Work can land slightly under the mark and still count as work; someone telling you it is fine can actually end the matter; a small error is a fact about the thing rather than a verdict about you.
It is worth being explicit that this band is not a consolation prize. The most common way to misread a result like this is as "not trying hard enough yet," which is exactly the reading the pattern itself would produce, and it is wrong. The research split that sits under this test separates striving for excellence from fear of mistakes, and it is the second one that reliably predicts distress while doing very little for performance. You have a good deal of the first and not much of the second. That is not a lukewarm version of perfectionism. It is the arrangement that produces good work over a long period without charging for it, which is the position the other two bands are trying to get back to.
Two things to check before you file this away. The first is averaging: a calm overall band can sit on top of one facet that is high, and the bars above show what the band flattens. The second is specific, and it is the one to look at. Read your stall bar on its own. It can run high while the other two are ordinary, and when it does it is usually not about standards at all — it is about exposure: starting is delayed, finished work gets held, and things do not get attempted, because something that has been released can be judged. That is a real pattern with its own explanation and it does not need a high bar to run. If that bar is up and the rest are not, that is the finding on this page.
What people with this result notice
Four of the eight notes the test writes for this type; the rest come with your own result.
📐 Lowering the bar would not make you mediocre
Almost nobody at any level of this believes that, which is why it is here rather than behind the paywall. The half of perfectionism that is fear of mistakes shows little positive relationship with performance; what it reliably predicts is distress. The suffering is not buying the quality. Your answers say you already hold a bar without paying that particular tax, which is the arrangement worth protecting.
⏳ Read the stall bar on its own
It is the one that can be high while the other two are ordinary, and when it is, it is usually not about standards — it is about exposure. Work that has been released can be judged, so it gets started late, held when ready, or not attempted. If that bar is up and the rest are not, that is the finding on this page.
What produces this result
Every answer feeds one overall score, and that score falls into one of 3 bands. The bands are levels of the same thing, not different kinds of person.

This is a screening-style questionnaire, not a diagnosis. A high score is a reason to talk to someone who can assess properly.
