The Changing Weather

Not a storm, not still — a mood that moves more than it needs to, and that the people close to you have learned to read before you speak.

What this type is

Your answers put you above what most adults report on at least one of the three facets over the last two weeks, without all of them being loud. The shape this usually describes is a mood with more range than the day calls for: the afternoon that is nothing like the morning, the small thing that lands harder than it should, the evening that stays grey after the reason for it has gone.

Which facet is highest matters more than the band. A high swing score with a low linger score is a mood that travels far and comes back fast — tiring for you, confusing for others, and largely a sleep and blood-sugar story. A high spark score is a mood that is easy to move, which usually means the threshold is low because something underneath is already close to the surface. A high linger score with the other two moderate is the one to watch, because staying moved is the facet that shades toward something a clinician would want to hear about.

The honest limit: a middle band is the most sensitive to the two weeks you happened to take it in. Short sleep, a deadline, the week before a period, a family thing — each raises these numbers in people who would otherwise score still. Retake it in a month. If the weather is still changeable, that is a pattern, and the bars will tell you which kind.

What people with this result notice

Four of the eight notes the test writes for this type; the rest come with your own result.

☁️ The weather has more range than the day calls for

A middle band usually describes a mood with more travel than the events explain: the afternoon unlike the morning, the small thing landing hard, the grey evening after the reason has gone. Naming it as a pattern rather than as your personality is the first useful move.

📊 The loudest bar decides what helps

A high swing responds to sleep and food. A high spark responds to a few seconds between the thing and the reaction. A high linger responds to structure and to one person told plainly. Look at which bar is highest; the general advice about moods mostly targets the wrong one.

What produces this result

Every answer feeds one overall score, and that score falls into one of 3 bands. The bands are levels of the same thing, not different kinds of person.

This is a screening-style questionnaire, not a diagnosis. A high score is a reason to talk to someone who can assess properly.
