The friction is that the momentum can carry you past the question of whether this was the right work. Execution-first leaders can deliver, superbly, a thing that should have been stopped, and can treat a change of direction as a failure of discipline rather than as new information. You may also undervalue the messy, relational, exploratory phases that precede a clear plan, and be impatient with people who are still in them. Under pressure you tighten the plan.
