What this type is
Under pressure your answers reach first for tend: you steady everyone else's nervous system before checking your own, you make the tea, smooth the tone, read the room and give each person what will calm them. This is the fourth stress response — the one the older fight-or-flight model left out — and it is the one that keeps families, teams and friendships intact through things that would otherwise break them.
What it gives you is a kind of quiet authority. In a crisis people move toward you without knowing why, and the room is calmer for you being in it. Tending is care under load, and it is a skill, not a reflex, however automatic it feels.
The friction is that the cost is never counted, including by you. The tender's own stress goes unmet because there was always someone more upset to attend to, and the account is drawn down until it is empty and the collapse arrives without warning — to everyone, including you, because you looked fine. Tending can also be a way of avoiding your own reaction: as long as you are managing theirs, you do not have to have one. The practices that help: check your own state first, once, before you attend to anyone else's; and let one person tend you, which will feel wrong and is the whole point.
What people with this result notice
Four of the eight notes the test writes for this type; the rest come with your own result.
What produces this result
Each answer adds to one of 4 facets. Whichever facet ends up highest names your type, so the result is about what leads rather than what is absent.
