What 7w8 is
7w8 adds the Eight's force to the Seven's appetite. It is the most assertive wing in the system — fast, decisive, and materially ambitious in a way 7w6 is not, with far less anxiety about how any of it is received.
The Eight wing gives a Seven force and removes most of the hesitation. Where 7w6 checks with the group, 7w8 decides and goes, and the appetite extends past experiences into resources, territory and control. It is the most materially ambitious wing of Type Seven and the least troubled by anyone's opinion of it.

Against 7w6, this wing does not check. 7w6 wants the group along and worries about disappointing it; 7w8 makes the call, and is startled to learn afterwards that anyone minded.

Most often mistaken for an Eight. The difference is what the force is for: an Eight wants not to be controlled, a 7w8 wants not to be limited. An Eight will sit in a difficult situation and dominate it; a 7w8 will leave and find a better one.
7w8 in relationships
Exciting, generous and difficult to pin down. The characteristic problem is bluntness combined with momentum — a 7w8 says the thing, moves on, and is surprised weeks later to learn it landed badly. Slowing down long enough for the consequence to register is the whole growth curve.
