What this type is
Achievement came out as your strongest career value. It is the need for work to have a scoreboard — targets met, standards exceeded, recognition earned — and for your own performance to be measurably better than it was. You are motivated by mastery and by winning, and a job with no way to keep score feels like no job at all.
The gift is drive. You improve, you deliver, and you raise the level of whatever you are part of. Competitive fields, sales, sport, high-stakes professional work, and any environment where excellence is rewarded and visible give you what you need, and you give it back.
The friction is that the scoreboard is never finished. Each win resets the baseline, the satisfaction lasts less time than the effort took, and worth becomes contingent on the most recent result. Work that matters but does not measure — relationships, health, the slow projects — gets deprioritised, and when the wins stop, as they do for everyone at some point, the ground can go out from under you. The work is to keep a second ledger that the first one cannot see: what you are building that will still be there when the view has stopped clapping.
